Shipping and FAQs

Shipping information

I typically ship with the US Postal Service. An order of one or two cards ships standard First Class without tracking info. Three cards or more, or larger items, are upgraded to USPS Ground Advantage which comes with tracking information. Shipping with USPS usually takes between 1-4 business days depending on your location.

I carefully package all prints and cards to try and best prevent any damage in transit. I use almost entirely recycled & recyclable materials as packaging, and try to avoid the use of plastics or bubble wrap. A typical order will arrive in a recycled cardboard mailer, with some recycled tissue paper for padding. I also use compostable plant-based protective sleeves when needed.

Please contact me via email or my Contact page if any items have arrived damaged.

Returns and exchanges

Please contact me within 10 days of delivery if you would like to return an item. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or was incorrect. Buyers must ensure that items are returned in suitable packaging to prevent damage during return transit. Please email me or use the Contact page of this website to initiate a return or exchange.

Order cancellations

Because I ship in stock items very quickly I am typically unable to accept cancellations. But please contact me as soon as possible if you have any problems with your order or need to update the shipping address.

Customs and import taxes

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. Winter Pickle Press is not responsible for delays due to customs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to process my order?

Orders are typically dropped off at the post office within 1 business day (including Saturday). Sometimes it is 2 business days if there are lots of orders placed at the same time.

For larger custom orders we can confirm ship dates before you place your order.

Can I stock your cards or prints in my store?

Yes! Please visit my Wholesale page for more information, including my Faire Direct link to place an order in just a few clicks. Use the Contact page to order directly from me via message or email.

How do you make your cards and prints?

All my cards and prints are handmade using a technique called block printing. I use different types of linoleum blocks (or "plates") into which I carve my designs, so the prints resulting from this method are usually called linocuts, lino prints, or linoleum prints. I use special sharp carving tools to cut my design out of the lino block, and then using rollers (or "brayers"), I roll printing ink onto the surface of the block.

I then transfer the inked design onto paper or card using either my small etching press (the paper and block are pressed between a metal roller and a metal plate) or with the use of a printing baren which looks a lot like a large flat spoon.
